A free random scheduling & accountability service
IS TODAY THE DAY?
Random Testing. Real Accountability. Rebuilding Trust.
Stop arguing over who picks the date. Set the rules together, let an independent schedule choose the testing days, and celebrate the effort of following through.
Our schedule, reminders and accountability tools are free. Test kits and lab testing are not included.
The P in the Cup app is still being built, so accounts are not open yet. What “launching soon” means.

Why it helps
-
You Agree on the Rules
Everyone involved settles how often, what a scheduled day means and what gets shared, before anything starts.
-
The System Chooses the Day
Testing days are picked in advance by the schedule, so nobody has to be the one who chose.
-
Stay in Control
Use a nickname, decide what each person can see, and leave when you choose to.
-
Celebrate Follow-Through
Streaks, goals and badges recognise taking part, never a particular test result.
How it works
Five steps, and nobody has to pick the date
The schedule is free. You're in control. The commitment is yours.
-
Create a free account
Use it on your own, as a pair of consenting adults, or as a private group.
-
Agree on the schedule and expectations
Choose how often a test day may come up and what everyone expects on a scheduled day, including how quickly to respond. All of it is optional and agreed together.
-
Check "Is Today the Day?"
The server has already chosen. Checking only reveals today's status; it does not decide it, and checking again does not change it.
-
If it's a scheduled day, follow through as agreed
Complete the home or professional test you bought separately, the way you agreed, and optionally report that you completed it.
-
Celebrate participation and milestones
Recognition is for showing up and keeping your commitment. A negative screen is not treated as proof of sobriety.
Try it
See what checking in feels like
Fictional Fictional interactive demo — not a real random testing decision
Step through a few scripted sample days. The demo asks for nothing about you and stores nothing.
Illustrative demo
No test on this sample day. Your sample check-in still counts toward the habit.
+10 sample XP for checking in
Showing a static sample.
XP and badges are optional. Each person can switch them on or off for themselves, and a group or organisation can switch them off for everyone in it. Without them, the schedule, check-ins and goals work the same.
The reveal button needs JavaScript. Without it you see one static sample with the same labels.
Demo uses sample outcomes. Real schedules cannot be rerolled: in the app, each schedule is selected and locked on the server before the day begins, so visitors and participants cannot reroll a real result.
Goals & rewards
Celebrate the effort, one day at a time
Prizes and recognition are for participation and consistency, never for a negative result.
Build a 7-day check-in habit
Check in each day and watch a simple streak grow.
Choose a 30-day commitment
Set a longer goal at a pace that suits you.
Unlock a participation badge
Digital badges mark milestones in showing up.
Support a private group challenge
Opt into a shared challenge with people you already know.
Opt into digital rewards
Rewards are optional: switch them off for yourself, or for a whole group or organisation.
Sponsor prizes Coming later
Physical prizes may be added later, only if funded and reviewed. None exist today.
Families, pairs & private groups
Rebuild trust through clear expectations, not repeated accusations.
P in the Cup is voluntary and built for consenting adults. Everyone sees the agreement before it starts, everyone chooses what they share, and anyone can leave. It is a way to keep a promise you have made together, not a tool for surveillance or discipline.
- Agreements are accepted by each participant, never imposed
- Each person controls what others can see
- Leave or withdraw when you decide to
- Independent of any recovery fellowship, court, employer or treatment provider
Test Kit Guide
Need a test kit? Start with a clear comparison—not a guess.
Our guide is educational. We explain the main kinds of test so you can read labels with confidence.
Test strips
Dip-style urine strips, often for one substance or a few. Check exactly which are listed.
Multi-panel cups
All-in-one cups that screen for several substances. More panels does not mean everything is covered.
Oral fluid
Saliva swab screens. What they screen for differs by product, so read the label.
Lab confirmation
The FDA advises sending a sample for a laboratory test after a preliminary positive home result.
Kits and professional testing are separately purchased. P in the Cup does not sell or administer tests. The FDA notes that no drug test of this type is 100% accurate. Source: FDA, Drugs of Abuse Home Use Test.
Privacy
Private by design, honest about the limits
Choose a nickname. Share only what you approve. Decide whether to record test results at all.
Anonymous aggregate contributions are optional and off by default.
A nickname keeps your name away from other participants, but the email you register with is still known to the operator. We will not promise anonymity that no service can deliver.
FAQ
Questions people ask first
Is drug testing free?
No. P in the Cup's random scheduling and accountability tools are free. Users purchase any home test kits and professional or lab testing separately.
Does clicking the button decide whether I test?
No. Your schedule is set in advance on the app server; the button only reveals today's status. Repeated clicks don't change it.
Can my partner see everything?
No. You choose what to share. Accepting an agreement clearly explains any fields other participants may see.
Can I stay anonymous?
You may use a nickname and restrict sharing, but if you register by email the operator retains limited account information. You may independently opt into aggregate data contribution, but no system promises impossible total anonymity.
Does the app verify that a home test result is negative?
No. An uploaded photo or self-report is not a laboratory-verified result. Confirm presumptive positives with appropriate laboratory testing.
Do you give prizes for negative results?
No. Recognition is for voluntary participation, habit consistency and goals, not for a particular drug-test result. Physical prizes may be added later if funded and reviewed.
